The Emperor of Germany is now making great preparations to be present in Jeru salem during the Easter season of 1898. There is a peculiar interest felt everywhere in the development amongst the Jews of the tendency known as Zionism, which found expression recently at the Congress of Jews at Bale, Switzerland, where one wealthy Israelite offered to contribute fifty million dollars for the purchase of Palestine from the Sultan of Turkey.
