A series of yarns about the Australian Outback at the turn of the 20th century--reminiscent of the American Frontier and Gold Rush stories of America, written with humor and wild self-conscious exaggeration and easy charm, reminiscent of the style of Mark Twain. Bright red-orange cloth binding with green titles, very clean and unmarked; bottom edges of boards rubbed, light wear to lower corners. Endpapers burnt orange; binding tight and solid square; interior very clean and unmarked. Very nice volume. Jacket is green with orange print, clean, rubbed and scuffed on edges, oval piece missing from upper edge, an inch long three-quarters inches deep and on rear lower edge the same but a litle smaller. 277 pages. 8.5 x 5.6 inches.
