If you want to read a pastiche about Sherlock Holmes' arch-enemy Professor Moriarty, be warned: this is not the Moriarty you expect.
The narrative is exceedingly dull, and is there a female character in the entire book who isn't a prostitute? If you enjoy reading about streetwalkers and men who visit streetwalkers and men talking about streetwalkers, then maybe this book is for you. But I only got through a third of it before I put it aside and picked up a P. G. Wodehouse novel.
