Many believers feel stunted in their Christian growth. We beat ourselves up over our failures and, in the process, pull away from God because we subconsciously believe He tallies our defects and hangs His head in disappointment. The Father beckons us to Himself with a "furious love" that burns brightly and constantly. Only when we truly embrace God's grace can we bask in the joy of a gospel that enfolds the most needy of His flock-the "ragamuffins."

Had to Buy a Copy for a Loaner
I read this book before I bought it from Alibris, but bought a copy because it was such a good book that I wanted to have one to loan out to others. I like to purchase used books when possible as the prices are better and they are usually in a condition that I am happy with. Sometimes the previous reader's underlining is even wonderful, to get to see what someone else's high points were. I've used, and will continue to use, Alibris as one of the sites for used-book sellers.

A Classic Must Read!
This is a CLASSIC...for Seekers and Believers....an inspiring book that emphasizes Christ's offer of the abundant life that far supercedes what no other religion offers...the unmerited favor of our God! Mr Manning's book will always renain a favorite, a book I will give, and recommend to seekers and fellow believers. It enhanced my faith immeasurably! I will always be thankful to the author's numerous books...also, Abba's Child is incredible!

Excellent Book
This book is life changing and profound. Brennan Manning has a unique writing style that captures simplicity with profundity. Be prepared to spend time digesting the beauty of the gospel simplified. If you are a Christian looking for a fresh approach to the gospel, this is the book. The truth on these pages will silence you and bring you into a fuller awareness of the futility of judging one another. Buy it - you won't be sorry!

Provocative and Life-changing
This book does not allow a casual read. You will either hate it, because you don't get it, or you will love it and be deeply moved and changed by it. The author has such a deep, personal grasp of the reality of grace at work in his life, and skillfully shares it in beautiful, readable language. He has read widely on his topic, and shares many insightful quotes from other authors on the subject, which shows some humility at recognizing that someone else has already said something as well as it could be said. I have given this book to a number of people, all of whom share my reactions: beautiful. Thank you Brennan Manning!
