Giving Thanks
I read this book straight through. I read a lot, and usually I read pretty fast, but about a third of the way through this book, I was reading through tears. For some time now, God has made me aware that our prayers are not to be a laundry list of what we think we need Him to do; thankfullness and praise are always to be at the beginning of our prayers. The Mary in this book was led by God to teach these women to give thanks. We serve a great God, but I think because of the affluence this country has experienced, we have come to take His blessings for granted, at least I know I have. I am thankful this book was placed in my path; I found it in the recreation room of an RV park in the high country of Colorado; I am ordering a copy for myself, the library at my church, and for whoever God leads me to send a copy of it to.
