A great read
A fine book and a great read. Not only a story of the revolt, but also a capsule history of the Puebloan people from Chaco to the present. Why? It turns out that the Pueblo revolt is the pivot on which southwestern Pueblo history swings into its modern phase. But this is not an academic but a personal history. Roberts is a tactful writer whose presence in the narrative is useful but never overbearing. This is a hard book to put down - sounds like a definition of good writing to me. Enjoy!
