Pages clean, no underlining, no highlighting, no writing, moderately toned. Brown endpapers book-taped reinforced at hinge. There is residue left on the back paste-down from a library pocket and a lib. number on spine. This is a lesser known work by the author of Ben-Hur; he served as governor of the territory of New Mexico and as a U.S. diplomat as minister to the Ottoman Empire.
