Seller's Description:
None. Very Good Indeed. An edition of Thomas Moore's juvenile poetry. Moore attributed this collection to a pseudonym, Thomas Little, an apt name due to his short stature. The preface is signed T. M in which Moore briefly talks of Thomas Little's life, declaring that he died in 'his one and twentieth year'. Moore published his juvenile poetry as an attempt to clear one of his many debts and unfortunately the proceeds barely met the debt. However, the collection of love poems further enhanced his reputation as a ladies' man. Thomas Moore was an Irish poet, singer, songwriter and entertainer. He is best remembered for his lyrics of 'The Minstrel Boy' and 'The Last Rose of Summer'. In a half calf binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Prior owner's pencil inscription under the author's name to title page, '(Thomas Moore)'. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are age toned due to paper used with the odd spot throughout. Very Good Indeed.
