I just discovered this today via Netflix, and have now ordered both the video and the book. It's a historical era that is not often covered effectively in film, and I'm glad for their decision to produce it as a mini-series rather than as a theater-release movie which would not have done the subject matter justice. IMHO this film's combination of stellar cast, script and production value make it a close rival to Kingdom of Heaven and Name of the Rose. Sewell and Redmayne are brilliant. I'm looking forward to adding Pillars to my personal library.
