Though this verse certainly does not refer to any irapd.5orii of doctrines of a more mystical character (Theoph.), and can never be fairly urged as recognizing any equal and co-ordinate authority with the written Word (comp. Mack), it still may be said that the instructions seem definitely to contemplate a regular, orderly, and successive transmission of the fundamentals of Christian doctrine to Christian ministers and teachers, see Mosheim, de Rebus Christ, p. 130.
