I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence. -Frederick Douglass I'd like to attempt to properly introduce you to what I hope you will experience by the end of reading this book, but I must start by asking you a few questions: 1. Are you good with yourself? 2. When you look at yourself, what do you see? 3. Is the image in the mirror an original? 4. Are you authentic or a really good replica of someone else? 5. Do you know ...

5. Do you know the person you see? a) Is he or she familiar or a stranger? (b) Do you like that person? (c) Better yet; do you love the person that you see? Well ...? This book is dedicated to the memory of my sister, Valerie Denise Ross. God used her life, and what I saw through it, to move me forward with what I pray will change and strengthen the lives of many others. (If it changes one, to God be the glory.) I was inspired to write this book to hopefully open someone's eyes, release them from their captivity, and empower them to be the person they truly are within. I believe strongly that God's intention for each of us is to be the individual that we were designed to be. There is a place in life that flows freely and getting in the flow will prove to be extraordinary. I've learned that this is a very peaceful place that is full of joy. I have found that the ability for people to be their true selves comes with great opposition and struggle. That opposition doesn't only come from outside forces, but from within as well. If we're being totally honest, how many people can say the person everyone knows them to be is truly who they are internally. How many people are comfortable just being their selves? How many of us find ourselves putting a lot of time into being the person that someone else wants us to be. Do you ever feel pressured by thinking that if you don't follow what others instruct you to, you would fail them ...and maybe yourself? I'm sure you've heard the expression "be comfortable in your own skin"; the question is: Are you? I realized that I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I wasn't comfortable doing what I believed I should do. I allowed everyone else to define me and found that they were (for the most part) happy with me, but I wasn't. I really had the mind-set to go with the flow (othe's flow), because in my mind that just was the way things were supposed to be. Then, I discovered myself - and it's hard to describe the peace I found. I hope after reading these few chapters you will discover yourself as well. I found out that I really love me! (The real me)
