Alaska 1899, the gold rush is on, and this is the story of the North Star Lode found by Murrah Starr, and of Black Angus McClennon who tried to kill him to get it, and of Erin O'Farrell, the girl who followed Starr into the cold north country. The advertisement for the book for sale lists this as a Bantam first edition 1969, and it could only be a New Bantam first edition as the true first edition by Bantam came out in 1958 and is the copy from which I am reviewing this book. There was also a movie made from this book called North Star which I believe starred James Caan. I was not impressed by the movie, the book is better, in my opinion. It is not the best Will Henry book by no means but it is still worthy of purchase and reading.
