Many of thefe funken rocks have only 8, 6, 4, or i feet on "" them. The channels or palfages between the ieveral if.ands, which lead to their harbours and roads, are dangerous to grangers; but they are lo wtll known by the fifhermen who inhabit the ijlandi, as to enable them to conduft (hips through them with great fafety.. Six of thefe I/lands are inhabited, viz. St. Mary's, St. Agnes!, St. Martin's, Trefca, Bryer, and Sampfon. St. Mary's ijlattd is the largelt of the lix; it is about two miles and a half long, and a mile and a half broad. St. Agnes, called by fome the Ligbt-houfc ifland, is about a mile and a half W. b. S. from the loutn-weft part of St. Mary's ijland; it is the fbuthernmoft of all the ijlands j for the very large rocks which lie to the louth-welt of it, cannot with propriety be called iflandb. Nearly two miles and a half to the northward of the noithcrnmoft part ofSt. Maiy's, lies the illand of St. Martin; it is ab'.ut half the fize of St. Mary's, Trefco ijland lies about a mile and a halt to the welt ward f that of St. Martini and wo miles to the nonh-weftward of St. Mark's: it is utkoned equal, if not H larger thin the LUe of St. Martin.
