Truth and morality must be taught consistently and uniformly everywhere. Upon the stage and in the public prints as in the homes, the schools and churches of a people, or else all the good Work of the latter is soon nullified by the evil influences of the first. The popularity of the theatre must be utilized to cultivate the deep and subtle distinctions between right and wrong and thereby continu ally strengthen its patrons against the evil inclinings of their grosser natures.
