Very good. 1st Edition thus. 480pp. 16mo. Red leather three quarter binding. Boards are worn and rubbed. Gilt lettering and rule on spine. Rebacked with original spine laid down. Two book plates affixed to front paste down. Some staining to endpapers. 6 engraved frontispieces (one at the start of each part) as well as many other illustrations. Foxing to first 11 pages including frontis as well as some scattered through out (as well as on the other 5 frontispieces as is common). A nice copy. very good 6 original parts as issued, July-December 1851. A classic Victoria periodical with interesting illustrations, stories and musical scores relating to many different areas of interest at the time. The book was previously owned by Sir J. Whittaker Ellis, a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom (as is explained on one of the bookplates)
