Contents all tightly bound. Volume One (I) has a split to front gutter at spine and spinal leather thus loose (attached rear). Volume Four (IV) front board is detached but present. All pages edges marbled. Seller, also a bindry, can repair errant volumes for additional cost upon request and prepayment.

Good. Color map of Boston, many b/w Illus., maps. 4 Vols. 4to, beautifully bound in contemporary 3/4 tan calf with gilt spines and red morocco spine labels. Boston: James Osgood, 1885, 1881. Mixed Edition. Volumes I and II were published in 1885. Volumes III and IV are first editions and were published in 1881. On all the volumes there is some wear to the edges of the marbled boards especially on the bottom edges. On all the volumes the corners of the calf are lightly bumped. Internally, this is a tight, clean, bright set. Howes W-576.
