"There is no need for God who is capable of hearing the sound of the interstellar void and of seeing through the doors, of flying faster than the sea eagles in the sky and, above all, of looking at the horizon knowing that he will never die". That idea of a "man without God" was then just a premonition in Lucien???s head clearly fueled by the prophecy of his mother, the socially repudiated Maman Brigitte, who in his earliest childhood had repeatedly promised him that one day he would become an angel and fly higher than any ordinary human. Sergeant Lucien Blackword, of the United States Marine Corps, had been selected to be the main protagonist of Project Nephilim. This secret experiment, sponsored by the Office of the President, was to be carried out in the misterious and unknown Area 51 of the Nevada desert, to wich the leading scientists in transhumanist biotechnology had already been displaced. The ultimate objective of the project was the achievement of the "invincible warrior", an unbeatable soldier on the battlefield and in comand operations, thanks to the enhancement of hisphysical and mental faculties, trough the application of biotechnological prototypes to his body and mind that would transform this possibility into reality. The first experiments assigned to the project were very successful. The multiplication of the abilities and powers of the experimental warrior, Sergeant Blackword, began to be appreciated in a few months. The use of an "exoskeleton" gave him more mobility and strength than could characterize any human being, while the "sensory microchips" grafted under his skin exponentially multiplied his ability to hear the enemy at great distances, see him in the darkness of the night, and even smell their fear. To these capabilities that already gave him enormous military superiority on the battlefield or in camouflage operations, new powers were later added when his brain was connected to the Internet cloud and the Google Maps satellite, through the "human-machine interface". These powers, made possible through the application of biotechnological prototypes designed by scientists and inspired by transhumanist technology, transformed him not only into the invincible soldier, but into the most powerful man on earth. Even the test by fire, a real war mission, also concluded successfully. However, his development aroused scientists distrust of the marine. Even so, the military leaders proposed continuing forward and added, to the sergeant's already evident superpowers, the possibility of experimenting with a new transhumanist technology, the application of "cellular regeneration" techniques capable of stopping aging and perhaps being a source of eternal youth. But the scientists responsible for the project found serious ethical deficiencies in its development and designed an alternative plan. This was none other than ending the experiment, neutralizing the protagonist. But they did not know that the application of biotechnological prototypes to human beings for physical and mental improvement, inspired by transhumanist technology, was already an established fact in the history of Humanity, of which secret projects of a military nature were nothing more than the vanguard of real history.
