Handsomely bound in a greenish linen buckram cloth, measuring 8" x 11" in width and height, being one of only 3000 copies printed, a fine museum exhibition catalog, unpaginated but well over 200 pp., and with nearly 200 fine black-and-white illustrations. Complete with endpaper maps, and a Foreword by Fiske Kimball. Segmented into four sections, roughly the periods up to the beginning of the Christian era, the 1st Century A.D. to 800 A.D., from 800 A.D. to about 1300 A.D., and the Terminal phase, 1300 to about 1500 A.D.
