A pack of wolves make a sudden, bloody return to the sleepy, Rocky Mountain ranching town of Hope, Montana, where a century ago they were slaughtered in their thousands. Now, shielded by law as an endangered species, they reawake an ancient hatred that will tear apart a family and ultimately the whole community. "The Loop" is the story of Helen Ross, a twenty-nine-year-old biologist, sent alone into this hostile place to protect the wolves from those who seek to destroy them. It tells of her struggle for survival and for self-esteem and charts her dangerous love affair with the eighteen-year-old son of her most powerful opponent, brutal and charismatic rancher Buck Calder. From its breathtaking first chapter to its devastating climax, "The Loop" is an epic tale of primal passion and redemptive love, exploring man's conflict with nature and the wild within himself.

GREAT BOOK
I read this book years ago and was so excited to find it again. The book was a wonderful read, not a boring moment. I am surprised that it has not been made into a movie.
