A fantastic story of the history of our area around Bellingham, Wa. Names have been changed, which made it a challenge at times: ie, town names were different. I would recommend this book for its story line and great writing skills.

A worthwhile read
Especially if you live in the pacific Northwest, this book is definitily worth checking out. The descriptions of the landscape and the weather are exquisite and evocative, and Dillard creates characters that are easy to invest in. The book is a bit hefty - sometimes Dillard errs on the side redundancy - but if you've got the time, absolutely check it out.
