Book has a faint bumping at the head and tail of the spine. White endpapers. Signed by the author on the title page in black pen. Binding is straight and tight. Very faint smudge on the outside edge and lower edge of the textblock-pages are otherwise all clean, white, and crisp. 834 pages. No dust jacket, as issued. Illustrated with a couple maps and a few manuscript facsimiles. Large, heavy book will require additional postage on orders requesting International or Priority shipping service. The book's subject lived from 1787 until 1842; the book is signed by the subject's grandson twice removed.
