Chevalier Jackson is the father of laryngoscopy and esophagoscopy, so this is required reading for those who fancy themselves airway management groupies.
But in addition to that, this is a fascinating depiction of the life of a physician in the late 1800's. Jackson lead an remarkable life prior to becoming a famous healer, and there are many lessons to be learned from his trials and tribulations.
The book is an easy read and I recommend it highly to paramedics, nurses, and young physicians.
