Great book with lots of factual infomation and interesting facts about the Lewis Chessman both of which we found on an excursion to a weekend getaway. Historical Information is included, along with geographical information where they were originally found, as well as maps and pictures of the individuals involved in their discovery and subsequent acqusition by museums where they were/are still kept. Would strongly recommend this book to anyone who has a love of the game of chess and has ever seen or has in their possession reproductions of the Lewis Chessman...unique and one of a kind ...If you have never seen them, and love chess it is worth your while..they are truly a joy to play with. We purchased them through the British Museum web site. Great to play with chess pieces with such an ancient and interesing history.
