Normally I wouldn't pick up a book about World War II, but this book is not so much about the war as the war is the backdrop for a very interesting wartime relationship...yet it has more meat than the standard romance novel. I found it fascinating the role of the British female pilot and how the British interacted with American pilots in Britain during the second World War. The military flying scenes were realistic as were the issues each character faces. It does not have a syrupy "they lived happily ever" after ending, instead the ending makes one think, "Yes, I can believe that, I too might have made the same choices."
