This is the third book of Marlena's that I have read. I visited my roots (Tuscany) this summer and took her book with me. The Lady In the Palazzo. Being first born generation of Italian's, her book is like reading the lives of my family and the tradiations that they still followed here in California. My family in Italy (61 and counting) still live and partake in these celebrations with the foods and wines. I could feel her true nature of Italian ways, until late in the book, when the American's were coming from Flordia that her style and terms changed to an American writer. Up until that point, it is pure Italian (which I just love). She has a big heart full of so many talents. I try to get to where her and husband are in their ages. She never gets to that..... that is just fine. For it leaves me to imagine........

this is an excellent read after you have read The House in Venice and The House in Tuscany. This is a trilogy and should be read in order. All excellent.
