Why is Nick Brown's book important, original and controversial? Nick's been doing research for a PhD at a world renowned University. Privately he had studied for over 10 years, 3 years full time, before his book was published from New York. This all started following a premonition that Muhammad may have been a Christian, a believer in Jesus as the Messiah. All his relevant research has vindicated his intuition about Muhammad's faith. Muhammad was a follower of Early Christianity (Jewish-Christianity) and not Gentile Pauline Christianity. For many centuries, Muhammad was accused of being a heretic' by the Roman Orthodox Christians. St John of Damascus (676-749 CE) was born just 44 years after Muhammad, and wrote some of the first polemics (ecclesiastical disputation and controversy) against Muhammad. Therefore, the idea that he was preaching a heresy' dates back over 1300 years. St John's criticism was almost identical to that of St Ignatius against the Jewish Christian Ebionites some five centuries earlier. Presented here is a fresh perspective that can only bring peace and greater understanding amongst people of the Abrahamic faiths. With great respect towards all faiths, Nick has written with the sole intention of discovering the roots of Christianity and Islam. Muhammad was a staunch believer in Jesus and strictly abided by the laws of Moses. Similarly, the Ebionites were Jewish Christians who believed Jesus was a Messiah and circumcised their male children. Early Christian communities revered Jesus as a Mashiach (anointed king of the Jews chosen and blessed by God). They believed that he was human and not the son of God. These beliefs matched Muhammad's faith. Therefore, he was clearly a Judaeo-Christian. Nick believes that Islam is so akin to Early Christianity because, without a doubt, it is Early Christianity. Muhammad proclaimed many miracles' about Jesus including: * Isa bin Maryam (Jesus) had a miraculous birth (born to Maryam who was a virgin) * Jesus spoke when he was just hours old * When he was only a boy, Jesus made clay models of birds come alive and fly away * Jesus could bring dead people alive with extraordinary, almost divine, powers * He cured lepers and empowered blind people to see again * Jesus received the Gospel as revelations from God * Jesus brought down a table loaded with wonderful food from God for his disciples. (Quran- Chapter Al Maeda/ The Table) (All the above miracles attributed to Jesus are from the Quran 5:110-115, and mentioned in other chapters too). If Muhammad had such conviction about Jesus, could he have belonged to an ancient Christian sect? Plenty has been written about the differences between Islam and Christianity, for example, polemics preached by zealous theologians, biased scholars, Jews, Christians and Muslims. Nick has attempted to investigate this subject logically, objectively and scientifically, and never with blind faith. In this book, numerous clues point to similarities between the three main Abrahamic religions. Nick's research confirms Islam as an ancient Arabic religion that hasn't changed dramatically from the time of Jesus. Many Islamic laws are archaic, based on the Torah (Old Testament), and date from 1000 BCE or earlier. When the Romans adopted Christianity in the 4th century, they tried to wipe out Jewish-Christianity as heresy'. However, it managed to survive and evolve around the world, receiving a great boost from Muhammad and his followers. Thus Islam was born.
