C.H. Dodd shines in this study of John's Gospel. It is still widely quoted in many commentries on John's Gospel today, and just one glance through the book will show you why. A word of caution though: if you don't speak Koine Greek, Latin or German, you will have a hard time reading some of Dodd's material written in these languages. Otherwise, the book is spectacular!
