He had little money, his boss disliked him and his girlfriend was leaving because he was "too nice". He should have a relationship with Rose, his new love, but her stalker seemed to be deciding their future, that would have to stop. His boss also liked Rose and thought it better if Roy worked somewhere else or not at all; that didn't seem fair. Roy could easily end up on the scrapheap contemplating suicide, like his good friend, Keith, who didn't just contemplate it. Do people really think your brain stops at fifty?
