I haven't quite finished reading this, but I'm gonna review it anyway. It is fairly well-written, and I enjoyed it up until Abby and Dante start dating, and she discovers his secret. It's a little too obvious for me, but I think I would have liked it a lot more if I'd read it as a young teenager. I haven't read the Twilight books, but I have a feeling Abby and Dante read a lot like Bella and Edward (if less angsty). I think the MacGuffin that Mangum employs is a pretty good device, but again, it's a little obvious. She doesn't over-work it, though, and lets the reader discover things without too much heavy-handed foreshadowing. Despite that, I'm pretty sure I know exactly how it's going to end, and where that final 'surprising' (to Abby, anyway) secret is hidden. It is enjoyable and light, but I don't see myself reading the sequel.

Great Book
This book is written for the YA or Teen, but I thought it was well done. I can't wait for the next one that comes out in summer of 2010.

it's ok
I liked this book but I didn't love it. I like the characters. The problem is that it almost felt like the whole book was just groundwork for the sequel, which has the potential to be more interesting.
It is a complete plot that can stand on its own, but it isn't hard-hitting on its own. We're left with an opening for a sequel, not a cliff-hanger. The story finishes, just not in a way that makes me want to sing about it.
I'm interested enough to read the sequel when it comes out, but I'm not starving for it.
