H. Percy Thompson, formerly Curate here, for a series of short papers about the old Church for the outside pages of their Parish Magazine. Out of those papers, which appeared month by month for nearly three years, and are believed to have been read with interest by many of the Parishioners, has grown the present fuller, and he would hope more complete, account of the Church, its Clergy, and its Associations. His great object has been to obtain reliable information, and in his search for such he can truly say he has spared neither himself nor any one, were he friend or entire stranger, who he thought might be able to supply it. And he gratefully acknowledges that from no quarter to which he applied has he failed to receive most ready help and encouragement.
