Osheim con tends with considerable pertinacity that they derived their name from Peter 'valdo, an Opulent merchant ol' Lyons, whose history will presently come under our ntice; but in this he is contradicted by his learned translator, and, I believe, I may truly add, by most triters of authoritv since his time.
