Mr. P., added, that he had sold fifty acres of the estate, and was unable to learn what part was called Hammonds.--The Commissioners in their Report say they are not supplied with sufficient evidence to connect the annuity of 1 16s. mentioned in the bill of sale with the 40s. bequeathed by John Beare, but they suspect the difference may be accounted for by supposing 4s. to be deducted for the land-tax.--The rent-charge is therefore lost. assigns, an annuity of 20s. charged on twenty-four acres of land in Chislehurst, Foots-cray, and North-Cray, for the use and behoof of the schoolmaster of the Free-School at Dartford, with power of distraint; this annuity was never received, and Mr. Bradley informed the commissioners that Thomas Caldecot, esq., was heir-at-law of Henry Wooden the surviving trustee. Mr. Caldecot in a letter to Mr. Carlisle, dat. April 6th, 1819, replying to an application of the Commissioners said "I am heir-at-law to Henry Wooden, stated to be the surviving trustee of the will of Henry Draper, 1691; but I never heard of the co-trustee of the testator, nor of the trust, from any of my family or other person, until informed by Mr. Bradley a few years since. I then told that gentleman he would save himself some hundreds of pounds, as well as years of trouble, if instead of prosecuting that claim he invested a sum in the public funds that would produce 205. per annum for the use of the school.
