The actual 'story' of the book is good; It tells of life in Irag as a husband and wife soldier team. My son having been in Irag I could relate to the many incidents that she talks about. However, I didn't like the way that she seemed to 'degrade' being a woman...she always speaks of ' a man's world' as if that is the greatest way of life....she speaks of a lot of incidents were the alcohol was flowing free....and she was partaking just as the men...sort of lowers her morals.... in my opinion. All in all, the gist of the story is that her husband was killed in iraq...but she was still blessed with the opportunity of spending a lot of time with her husband that other wives didn't get.....because she was in the army herself.
Story sort of drags as she goes into a lot of detail about her personal life in general.
It's not the book you would want to read the second time...
