This is a classic. I have read it often - simply wanted to get a copy for a friend. Leanne Payne is an amazing author - as a Yale graduate, she has the ability to integrate clear intellectual thought and practical theology. In the genre of healing, she has written a masterpiece of practical insight into how to minister healing to the suffering. In addition, she has included some poignant discussion that probes into the underlying reasons for the ills befalling many of us. Bottom line, the wrongs we have done to others or received from others have separated us from the Real Presence that sustains the living. Without it, we are suffocating from the weight of our own self-guided lives. The Healing Presence answers the question of why we are hurting and how we can restore souls to harmony with God and others.
The author is extremely thoughtful, and as one should expect, there is never a work that one will agree perfectly with in every aspect. Though there may be minor things a reader might not agree with, the book will both enrich and minister to its readers. Without reservation I recommend this book to those hurting or ministering to hurting souls.
