I have read most of the classic handicapping books - Crist, Davidowitz, Quinn, Cramer, Brohamer, etc. The hardest thing for me to get a handle on as a handicapper was how to assess different classes of horses based on the eligibility conditions of the races they had previously run. This book not only clearly defined the levels of condiditons of various races but it also helped give me an understanding of the horses best suited to win at the various levels. This book, plus Mark Cramer's "Value Handicapping: The Art of Making your own Odds Line" (I might not have the title exactly right) helped me turn 2007 around within a month - 2007 went from a slight loss to a good net profit!
