David Packard is a fairly decent writer, and it is fascinating to read how HP came about, and more importantly, how it grew. There are a few wanderings in the telling (this is also about Dave, and not just about HP), but the description of "the HP way", the HP way of doing things, is compelling - you'd want to go and work for such a company.
