This is the story of a Catholic Priest and a Naval Chaplain who served his Marines but it is also their stories that make it so real. Do you know of a Vietnam veteran struggling with his Faith after witnessing the horrors of war? Do you have a son or nephew serving in the military and facing an uncertain future in a troubled world? Here is a book to help them see how a Christian man lives and dies in service to God and country.

Allot of good research and writing overall. Not sure the Padre would have approved of all the fuss in actuality! His ministry was beyond human ego. He demonstrated the work of the Holy Spirit revealing God's Light in the darkest expression of human creation WAR!!!!!

Good biography on a good man
The information in the book was well researched and written in a way to keep the reader interested in the story. There were several things happening during the course of the story, from his life as a child, to questions of his calling, to his missionary work and finally his time in Vietnam. It is a story that needs to be told and, even though this event occurred 40 years ago, I think would make a good storyline for a movie. For someone to give the ultimate sacrifice is something that should be told again and agian especially in this day and age. It is a good story and would be interesting reading for anyone from early teens through adulthood.
