Seller's Description:
Very Good. Presumed later edition. Square quarto. Illustrated by A.B. Frost. Cloth and illustrated paper over boards. Large but attractive period bookplate, edgewear and some modest erosion to the paper, professionally touched up, and a light dampstain on the front board illustration, a clean and tight, about very good copy. Printed on rectos only, each page alternates a rhymed alphabet of golf with wonderful comic illustrations by Frost. *OCLC* and Donovan and Murdoch both list 1898 as the first edition, and we can find no mention in either source of this 1899 issue. Regardless, copies of either issue (if indeed there are two) are almost never seen, and rare enough that the facsimile edition published in 1967 is also exceptionally scarce.
