This is part of a young adult triology based on the successful Star Wars franchise. Most of the characters are back in this kid friendly adventure. The story seems much shorter due to the drawings in the book. There are tons of illustrations.
The story concerns a man who claims to be the lost son of the former Emperor Palpatine. He comes to power, because he can wear the symbol of ultimate evil. The glove of Darth Vader he wears on his hand. He is not who he claims to be and there is a big mystery concerning his origin.
There is also an annoying kid named Ken. Luke and some of the others think it may be short for Kenobi. The kid is more interested in having a good time rather than learn about the force. He might be annoying to adult readers, but most kids can tolerate him.
This is a well paced action novel. The plot lines are kid friendly.
