Good. Dustjacket protected with slipcover, small piece cut out on top edge of dj on the back. Clean & crisp pages. From Publishers Weekly: The rough charm and heat that fueled Dance with the Devil are largely missing from Douglas's second novel, which reels through more melodramatic tragedies than the Book of Job. Kirk Douglas must be a Lusophile. His characterisation of the passionate Miguel is masterful. His love of the father of the Mustang, the Iberian horse, the Lusitano, captures the essence of the little known but immensely rich Portuguese equestrian scene. His description of the Portuguese bullfight is simply masterful. Having been to a few (I am Portuguese) I can categorically claim that I was transported to a bull ring somewhere in the middle of Portugal (Leiria to be exact. I recommend this book to any one who wishes to find out more about Portuguese culture and the proud Lusitanos.
