The use of the Index (which has been made very copious) will enable the reader at once to find any of the great mountains, rivers, lakes, etc. Etc., of Scotland, with their Gaelic derivation, and the meaning of them in English; they will be found to be highly descriptive. In proof of this, the author has inserted a list of the di erent names for emi nences in the Gaelic language, and furnished examples of every one of them taken solely from his own native district, Atholl, Perth shire.
