No Matter What Life Throws at Them, the Grace Sisters Always Have Each Other The four Grace sisters--Liz, Sal, Tilly, and Addie--love their quiet life in the country village of Chevis Green. To some, their insular world might seem dull, but the sisters and their father, Mr. Grace, never seem to run out of conversation, jokes, and pleasant ways to pass the time together. They truly are the happiest of families. That is, until Aunt Rona comes to town. Rona intends to stay with the Graces indefinitely, and her superior, meddlesome attitude immediately sets the sisters' teeth on edge. Throw in another unexpected houseguest, some potential suitors, and a case of mistaken intentions, and the members of the Grace family suddenly find themselves quite out of their element. Will they manage to make it through the summer and return to their quiet ways? Or will their close-knit family change forever? The Four Graces is another heartwarming tale from D.E. Stevenson, beloved author of Miss Buncle's Book Readers Love The Four Graces : "Reading D.E. Stevenson is simultaneously profoundly entertaining and heart-wrenching."

I was happy with the book. However, through no fault of the seller as far as I remember, I was surprised at the small size of this hardcover book. The pages also have irregular edges (I don't know the term for this and I think the seller had mentioned this fact also). These details about the book can be attributed to the fact that it was a war-time issued book, and is not a full novel. Although I have a paper back copy of this book, I have been searching for a hard cover issue of "The Four Graces" for so long and I am happy that my search is over. "The Four Graces" is a charming, light-hearted story about the lives of an English country minister and his four adult daughters in a summer during WWII, and some of the writing is pretty amusing. D.E. Stevenson fans will recognize some characters in this book that the author has written about in other books, so the reader feels right at home with this story. After I bought it, the well-packaged book traveled a long distance in a fairly quick amount of time, and was clean and in good condition. Would definitely buy from this seller again.

Having read reviews before picking out a book has been helpful for me, so as far as I am concerned any DE Stevenson is well worth the money, This was a very good read a parson and his daughters, there quiet life till a disturbance shows up and the resulting complications. Loved the personalitys of all the Graces including Mr Grace
