I felt like too much of the book focused in on the second set of characters introduced, almost unnecessarily so, and wasn't presented in a way that was ever REALLY suspenseful or horrifying to me, at least throughout most of the book. It made for an enjoyable story, but at times I found myself finding it hard to really want to keep reading. Overall, it was a good read though, like, a strong 3.

an unexpected gem
I really didn't know what this story was about. I don't want to spoil anything, but easily one of the best books i've read in the last several years. absolute must read for horror fans.
