I worked for a hospice for five years. During those years I searched for a book that would give me an introductions. I read Barbara
Karnes booklet, "Gone From My Sight.". That booklet was read over and over for five years. A year after retirement I read her book, Final ACTS OF LIVING. My tenure with hospice would certainly have been enriched if I had read this book.
Dying is certainly something that all of us are going will face several times during our lives. Therefore, I recomment that every one read this book because it introduces you to an option to the last days of your life. The books gives you the history of hospice. It shows you the compassion and the warmth of the people who work for hospice. Furthermore, give you a look at the four ways, emotionaly, physical, spiritual, and financial, that hospice helps family and dying patient.. Dying does not have to be the mosti painful time of a patient or family members life.
