This is another in the wonderful series of 20 maritime adventure/spy/battle/love stories created by Patrick O'Brian. Whenever possible, I recommend obtaining the single copy version of this series. The larger combined novels are poorly edited.
My only complaint: O'Brian died before bringing this narrative to a satisfying close. He had nearly done with Captain Jack Aubrey, but a whole new adventure awaited the complex Doctor Steven Maturin. Great reads!
