Seller's Description:
Good, good. 319, illus., maps, endpaper maps, some wear to top and bottom edges of spine. The author was one of the men who ran Room 900, a secret organization which maintained a network of escape routes across occupied Europe for Allied prison camp escapees and downed airmen.
Airey Neave has a fascinating story, but he could've used an editor. His organization was confusing, I was consistently wondering if the described event happened before, during, or after the event he had described previously.
He threw a great number of foreign names at me at once, and I couldn't keep the people straight.
Again, Neave has an absolutely fascinating story, from Colditz to the government, but this book does NOT do his story justice. He should've hired a ghost writer or something. As it is, it's a disappointment.
