Interesting "history" of what a small group of people can accomplish when they are energized by a motivated leadership. Good characters, fast paced storyline. Excellent weekend read.

An Enjoyable Read
Based on a true story, this historical novel takes place in WWI - WWII Wales. Two English map-makers go to a Welsh village to measure their "mountain." But it will only appear on His Majesty's maps if it is 10,000 feet. The people of the village are convinced that it is indeed a mountain, but the measurements prove otherwise. In a desperate attempt to save their mountain, the villagers collaborate to add twenty-four feet to it so it will be classified as a mountain. But while they do this, someone has to make sure the English stay in the village so they will measure it again.
This book is filled with humor and memorable characters all with very distinctive personalities.
