If you want a general overview of the science of emergence you'll find it here. The full concept of the book is a bit "preachy", so depending on your orientation toward religion, you may be either pleased, or not, by the attempt to relate the concept of emergence to "everything". Therefore, the "yes" recommendation would depend on the one to whom I was making the recommendation.
