If "Tequila Mockingbird" seems greatly influenced by Earth, Wind & Fire, it's because most of his sidemen on that appealing number are members of the soul/funk powerhouse. To be sure, there are a few duds here, including the dreadful, muzak-like "I'll Always Dream About You" and an unimaginative cover of EWF's "That's the Way of the World."
