I have always enjoyed books my this author. I hope she continues to write more of them. I have read all of Tony Hillerman's books and plan to do the same with Mrs Coel.

Great Story and very believable! I almost hate to have a new book arrive as I find I have to finish it in ONE setting and no interruptions!! Great Mysteries! Keep them coming.

The Drowning Man
Margaret Coel goes to the heart of the problem occuring everywhere; the wanton destruction of petroglyphs for monetary gain. Her knowledge of the Arapaho and Shoshone tribes of the Wind River Indian Reservation in Central Wyoming and their relationships among themselves and with the populace of the nearby communities once again is brought to life in an intense mystery surrounding the disappearance of one of the petroglyphs sacred to the Native American Population. Once again, the Jesuit priest, Father O'Malley (a transplant from Boston) who is at St. Stephens Mission is caught up in the snare of intrigue along with the Arapaho lawyer, Vicky, who has returned to the area to try and help her people. The on-going sensual tension between the two who are worlds apart and separated by his collar and their respect for his position brings added suspense to the story. While this book is just one in what has become a series, each book can be read independently from the others. The book is an especially good read for Wyoming readers who may be familiar with the area, the highways and byways, and the various places the story takes place both on and off the reservation.
